Oregon, My Oregon

Oregon Catalyst, Rep. Yunker: Stop Oregon’s Sanctuary State Training. Work with Feds

Representative Dwayne Yunker (R-Grants Pass) called on the Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) to immediately suspend its newly mandated Sanctuary State training for state employees, citing its direct violation of President Trump’s Executive Order 14159 and the recently signed Laken Riley Act.
“The State of Oregon is actively instructing state employees to defy federal law and obstruct immigration enforcement. This is not only reckless—it is illegal,” said Rep. Yunker. “I have sent a letter to DAS demanding that they immediately halt this training and work with the Department of Homeland Security to ensure Oregon is fully cooperating with federal immigration authorities. Oregon must put the safety of its residents first.”
The training, which was rolled out this month, prohibits state employees from using resources to assist federal immigration enforcement and instructs them to report requests from immigration authorities to a Sanctuary Promise Hotline instead of complying. These policies are in direct contradiction to federal mandates requiring state and local cooperation with immigration enforcement.

Maybe, just maybe, Tom Homan will put a few immigration scofflaws in the pokey, and the rest will fall in line.
