Back From Fishin'

The stereotypical sunrise shot, look across the bay from the western side. It was cold today, in the upper 30s, from mid 20's before dawn. Fortunately the wind was quite reasonable. The clouds and rain move in after a while, but with the boat's heater, we were plenty comfortable.

No need to lie, the pictures tell the story. Jim Stone, a neighbor, and a fellow with the water company with his 40+ inch fish.
Jim's son Justin, with his

Old, old fishing buddy Tom, with one of his.
Pete hooked this one, and handed it to Justin, who landed it.

Moi, with a 44 inch. It flat wore me out.

A pretty astonishing day, everybody caught multiple large, and many smaller fish. The fish were fairly easily found under working birds, but rarely stayed in on place long enough to catch more than one fish each. Pete's Hummingbird fishfinder and side scan sonar helped a lot too.

  1. Congrats on a great trip. Merry Christmas to you and thanks for this blog and all the effort you put in. Normally I trailer down there this time of year but too many boat issues right now so sitting this one out
