A Tuesday Tune - Lunar

Mia Asano, an electric violinist hailing from Denver, Colorado, combines classical training with a passion for alternative music. A Berklee College of Music graduate with a dual major in Violin Performance and Professional Music, Mia gained early recognition in the Colorado fashion scene before achieving global success on TikTok and Instagram.

Her viral videos, with over 10 million views, catapulted her into the spotlight, leading to collaborations with renowned artists like Dragonforce, Two Steps From Hell, and Lindsey Stirling. Mia has graced prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, and toured internationally, leaving an indelible mark on stages in Vienna and Valencia.

Recipient of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's best Violin performance award in 2020, Mia's violin prowess shines in diverse genres, from rock and metal to electronic and Celtic music. Her love for breaking musical boundaries and spreading positivity is evident in her projects, including collaborations with Ally the Piper and the RAMENSTEIN quartet. Mia's most recent album with Ally the Piper, Mia X Ally: The Viral Hits, reached the impressive position of #6 on the Billboard Classical Crossover chart.

As a featured violinist on Two Steps From Hell's 2023 European Arena Tour, Mia Asano continues to captivate audiences with her dynamic performances. Thomas Bergersen, acclaimed composer and member of Two Steps From Hell, expressed admiration for Mia on his Instagram: "[Mia] has achieved so much in her life at such a young age. Tuesday Tune - Silver Storm

 

Sarina Suno, AKA the "Violin Diva", is a Japanese violinist. She plays Jazz, Pop, Rock, and most notoriously House music.

Suno began playing the violin aged 5, and first studied classical violin in Japan and then in Boston at the Berklee College of Music. She discovered the electric violin, which is now her preferred instrument. Soon afterwards, she signed a recording contract with Victor Entertainment, under Sony Japan. She released two CDs Violin Diva Volume 1 and Violin Diva volume 2 in Japan, as well as a half dozen other EPs and singles.  She also recorded several Jazz albums including Introducing Sarina Suno, featuring Mike Stern and Dave Weckl. A recording of house music, Dancing Violin, was released on the French label Lift’in Records in August, 2011,  and another was released on New York label Strictly Rhythm Records in October 2012.

Emily V:

Emily V (born Emily Kilimnik) is an American rock n’ roll Violinist. Her style is commonly described as a guitarist taking the lead much like Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, and Warren Haynes. She currently performs with the elite musicians of rock band Monkey Finger.

She began playing violin at age eleven and has been an unstoppable force ever since. Awarded a scholarship in Violin Performance, Emily studied Classical music, Theory and Composition, and World Percussion music (African and Brazilian) at Cal State Long Beach. Emily’s love for Rock and Roll, Blues and Folk music began to really show as she would sit in with musicians at venues in the Los Angeles and Orange County area.

 

Emily has toured with the iconic, world renowned punk band The Adicts and has performed with such names as Walter Trout (The Walter Trout Band, John Mayall, Canned Heat), Willie K, Lukas Nelson and The Promise of The Real, Diego’s Umbrella, Avila (Oingo Boingo), David Shelton (Don Felder), Stevie DiStanislao (Crosby, Stills, Nash, David Gilmour, Loggins and Messina), Wade Biery (Joe Cocker, Roger Paltry, Don Felder), Jorgen Carlsson (Gov’t Mule), Travis Warren (Blind Melon), Todd Wolf (Beth Hart), Jimmy Paxson (Stevie Nicks), Mike Malinin (Goo Goo Dolls). Michael Leasure (Walter Trout), Matt Hughes (Warren Haynes).
