Most of the beach was pretty sandy, but the long beach at Matoaka was nicely graveled, and it was there . . .
I found this White Shark tooth, one of only four teeth I found.
One mere 1/16 inch shy from a 1 1/2 inches. It's not quite the biggest of the year, but it's flawless and sharp enough to use as a knife.
After the walk, Georgia and I took Gabby to the Calvert Marine Museum, where I dropped off a years worth of ordinary shark's teeth, and bags of crab claws, Tilly bones, ray plates, ray barbs, and miscellaneous random chunks of bones for the kid's Discovery sand box.
Some Megalodon reconstructions we saw there. The otters were uncooperatively taking their afternoon siesta, but otherwise, we had a good time.
