At The Tab, Um, MAFS’ Jacqui has an Arabic tattoo on her back and the translation isn’t even correct. "Well that’s embarrassing."
Jacqui from MAFS Australia has made a TikTok about everything at this point, including her tattoo that doesn’t even mean what she thinks. The bride has Arabic text inked in the middle of her back, and she explained its incorrect translation in a video. “So I got a tattoo in Arabic and people are like ‘What does it mean? I can’t tell. It’s in another language’,” she said. “I’m like ‘Oh my tattoo means I’m a badass as in like, I got a tattoo because I’m a badass, but it also literally translates to ‘I am a badass’.”
. . .
We reached out to professional Arabic-English translator Saad Burbank to find out what the tattoo really means, and this is where it gets hilarious. He told The Tab that the Arabic text translates to “solid, strong” in English so it doesn’t mean “I’m a badass” at all. I mean, there definitely isn’t a direct translation of that phrase to Arabic, so the tattoo artist clearly went with the closest thing.
