Election Goodies: Mark Meadows Caves?

From Da Hill, Meadows reaches initial cooperation deal with Jan. 6 committee. It's a compromise when nobody is happy, right?

The tenuous agreement comes as the committee is poised to censure its second witness. The committee announced Monday that it will hold a vote later this week to censure former Justice Department attorney Jeffrey Clark after he failed to cooperate with the committee — a move that would leave his former employer to prosecute him alongside one-time White House strategist Steve Bannon.

While the agreement may help Meadows dodge the same immediate outcome, both sides appeared to hint at the potential for the deal to unravel.

“As we have from the beginning, we continue to work with the Select Committee and its staff to see if we can reach an accommodation that does not require Mr. Meadows to waive Executive Privilege or to forfeit the long-standing position that senior White House aides cannot be compelled to testify before Congress,” Meadows’ attorney, George Terwilliger, said in a statement.

“We appreciate the Select Committee’s openness to receiving voluntary responses on non-privileged topics," he added.

Capt. Ed at Haut Hair, Whoa: Meadows cuts deal to cooperate with January 6 committee?  "Eeeeeenteresting, if true, but likely far less than it seems at first blush."

Just to finish off Jan 6. material before moving on, via Da Beast the CIA claims, Trump Never Got Another Classified Intelligence Briefing After Jan. 6, Given that the CIA was actively working against him, I'm not shocked. Why bother, when all their "intelligence" is designed to damage you? And the Guardian asserts Trump called aides hours before Capitol riot to discuss how to stop Biden victory. So by inserting the riot in there they try  to make it seem illicit. "Multiple sources, speaking to the Guardian on the condition of anonymity..." We saw how that worked with the Steele Dossier. Multiple sources turned out to be a single source with an agenda that made up a lie.

I hate to say I toldyaso, but…. well, {Go Deep}. The Washington Post is writing a story today about federal prosecutors using grand juries to subpoena the financial records of individuals and groups who were associated with the 2020 election audit efforts. The motives here are very predictable.

But the bottom line is that Joe Biden is desperate to look like he is doing something, ANYTHING, when it comes to COVID. The vaccine mandates that are certainly unconstitutional are all a part of Biden’s attempt to make it look like he’s “shutting down the virus.” But when the case goes to the Supreme Court, and they strike it down (God and the Constitution willing), Biden will be able to turn to his base, shrug his shoulders, say “oh well, I tried,” and shuffle awkwardly away from the podium without taking questions. But if Omicron doesn’t become a real issue, expect the White House to keep blaming COVID for everything.

Also from the Guardian, Trump tested positive for Covid few days before Biden debate, chief of staff says in new book. And then negative again. Back in the "early days" when the PCR test was running too many cycles routinely, false positives were abundant. If you were tested every day, like the President, they were likely to show up.
