Acting on a tip from someone in our exercise program we visited one of the local pet rescue places today, to see a Siberian Husky who was up for adoption.
The dog is almost a ringer for our last husky, Skye, except for two blue eyes instead of blue and brown, and in fact, had already been given the same name. It's almost eerie.
We talked ourselves into adopting her, and based on our previous husky experience, and answers to their questions, they waived the home visit and allowed us to take her home immediately. Her foster family gave her good bye kisses and promised to be available if needed.
We've already seen a few difference in their personalities, but nothing scary. Being a Siberian (well known for their propensity to run off), it will be a while, if ever, before we trust her off leash at the beach or anywhere.
And a new chapter opens.
