New Huma Abedin E-mail Address Discovered ahead of Benghazi Committee Appearance
A previously unknown e-mail address used by Huma Abedin was discovered on Thursday, just hours before the top Hillary Clinton aide prepares to testify in front of the House Select Committee on Benghazi. This doesn't strike me as a big deal. Almost everybody has a private email account or two, and for someone to send a message to a private account because their work account is not working is no big deal if no secrets were involved. And it's especially hard when you have so many full time jobs.
Conservative watchdog group Citizens United discovered the address in an e-mail exchange that shows Clinton Foundation CEO Robert Harrison forwarding a speaking invitation for then-Secretary of State Clinton to both Abedin’s State Department account and an unfamiliar Abedin address on November 6, 2012. “I tried to send this to your ‘clintonemail.com’ address, but it bounced back as undeliverable, so here it is again,” Harrison wrote.
The new address is titled “humamabedin,” and appears to be a private e-mail account. The State Department redacted the account’s domain name, citing a personal-privacy exemption.
But why was her clintonemail.com account not working. Too busy being hacked by the Norks, or just operator error?
How many email-related lies and distortions can Hillary squeeze into a two-minute exchange?
She’s “taken responsibility,” she says — albeit kicking and screaming, according to the New York Times. How authentic is that contrition? Her very next assertion is that her unsecure private server arrangement was “allowed.” No, it wasn’t. Further, at no point has she “tried to be as transparent as possible.” She kept the existence of her server a secret, resisted turning over emails until caving under pressure and court orders, only handed over the server itself when the FBI came knocking, and withheld relevant emails despite swearing under penalty of perjury that she hadn’t. This is the antithesis of transparency. Indeed, even many in the media and some Democrats concede that Occam’s Razor suggests the entire purpose of her server’s existence was to thwart transparency. As for the “marked classified” parsing, I broke down the self-serving evolution on Hillary’s excuses on this front, each made necessary by the collapse of the last (video via Right Sightings):Obama’s Comments on Clinton Emails Collide With F.B.I. Inquiry
Federal agents were still cataloging the classified information from Hillary Rodham Clinton’s personal email server last week when President Obama went on television and played down the matter. Is Obama working the refs on the FBI’s investigation into Hillary’s server?
“I don’t think it posed a national security problem,” Mr. Obama said Sunday on CBS’s “60 Minutes.” He said it was a mistake for Mrs. Clinton to use a private email account when she was secretary of state, but his conclusion was unmistakable: “This is not a situation in which America’s national security was endangered.”
Those statements angered F.B.I. agents who have been working for months to determine whether Ms. Clinton’s email setup had in fact put any of the nation’s secrets at risk, according to current and former law enforcement officials.
Investigators have not reached any conclusions about whether the information on the server had been compromised or whether to recommend charges, according to the law enforcement officials. But to investigators, it sounded as if Mr. Obama had already decided the answers to their questions and cleared anyone involved of wrongdoing.
The question is whether or not he thinks Hillary is a proper vessel for his legacy
