It’s a Sunday morning — at least it is when this piece comes out — so maybe you are sitting there reading this with your cup of coffee. And maybe, somewhere deep down, you are wondering if you are a psychopath. If so, the fact that you are wondering that is probably a red flag of sorts. But maybe not. Another possible red flag?
Well, according to at least one recent report, all you have to do is look down at your cup for a tell, either way. It’s no secret that filling a cup of coffee up with creamers and sweeteners can be a not-so-healthy way to start the day. A good cup of black coffee, however, is much healthier, and can give you the kick in the pants you need to get going.
But it could also mean you are a psychopath. So, if the coffee in your cup is black, you might have a problem. At least that is according to a study by researchers at the University of Innsbruck. They came up with their conclusion after reportedly surveying more than 1,000 adults about food and flavor and then following that up with personality tests.
And, what they reportedly found was that folks who preferred the bitter flavors tended to be a little more …. well, psycho. In fact, the report said that folks who really liked the bitter flavors were closely associated with “everyday sadism.”
Until recently, I mostly took my coffee black, with rare exceptions for excessively burnt coffee. However, Georgia and Corwin keep coffee creamer in the house, I mostly use it. Does that make me any less psychopathic?

The last pic ... that poor girl. She's losing her hair and looks like she'll be going bald soon. The glare off that forehead will blind you.
ReplyDeleteI despise bitter coffee, and love the idea of torturing people for fun. I don't think this research is accurate.
