Tragic to say that because the military are trained to avoid any politically motivated intervention. Atop Da Hill, Why DOGE is and will remain popular, even if its cuts are small.
So far, DOGE claims that is has saved about $65 billion in federal funds. So far, I have seen people make every argument — from “DOGE is revolutionizing the government” on the one side to “These cuts are basically just a rounding error” on the other. What people don’t realize is that both can be true at the same time.
Let’s start with the $65 billion. How much is that? It’s enough to cut a $450 check to every taxpayer every year. That’s actually quite a significant amount of money if you look at it that way.
But let’s take the flipside. We pay more than $900 billion every year just on interest on the government’s $36 trillion debt. In that sense, DOGE naysayers are not wrong when they say the savings constitute a drop in the bucket.
Insty, IS ELON MUSK AN “OFFICER OF THE UNITED STATES?” "Subject matter expert Seth Barrett Tillman responds to a claim by Prof. Katherine Shaw: “Shaw indicated that the test for being an ‘officer of the United States’ is that the purported officer exercises ‘significant power.’ That is entirely wrong.” UPDATE: Prof. Katherine “Kate” Shaw is Chris Hayes’ wife, FYI." Da Blaze hears Trump berates journalist asking about reported shouting match between Musk and Rubio: 'You're just a troublemaker'. At RCP, DOGE Has Consultant Cabal on the Run. So, I mean, the reality is that our elected officials have very, very little power relative to the bureaucracy until DOGE. So DOGE is a threat to the bureaucracy. It's the first threat to the bureaucracy. Normally the bureaucracy eats revolutions for breakfast. This is the first time that they're not, that the revolution might actually succeed. That we could restore power to the people instead of power to the bureaucracy." Said Elon Musk, on the Joe Rogan podcast last week."
