I'm Back

Another short notice walk-on trip with Pete. The Bay was unfishable in the morning due to 15-20 kt winds, so we turned west out of Solomons, and went up the Patuxent River to fish some more protected shorelines. You can see the Gov. Thompson Bridge which connects Calvert and Saint Marys County in the distace.
The mouth of one of the small creeks on the Patuxent was our first stop. We caught a few here, and I lost a big one on a popper when the knot to the lure broke.
Looking up river.

We went up as far as Sheridan Point, one of the major points on the River. We caught a few more on the way up. In the distance, Chalk Point Power Plant, formerly a coal powered plant, converted to oil and natural gas.
We tried a few more sites on the way down the river, and then, with the wind down a little, stopped at the mouth and
Cedar Point, where we found a few more. Again, I lost a big fish here when the hook pulled out. We did end up with a limit of stripers (2 per angler).
