Beach Report 10/23/23

A pretty fall day, with a blow out tide. Even starting the walk shortly after high tide, it was lower than we've seen in quite some time.
We got a pretty decent crop of teeth, 19 in all, but the real find of the day was . . .
. . . this 6 1/2 inch long whale vertebrate I found mostly buried in the beach exposed by low tide up above Matoaka. I think it may be the largest I've ever found.
Laying right next to it, buried, was a 3 1/2 inch vert. I'm fairly sure they're not related, just shifted to the beach in the same spot by chance.

It may be time to try to assemble the Frankenwhale in the basement.
