Flotsam and Jetsam - Hunter Tax Charges Dropped, Joe Used Aliases to Hide Business Ties

At the request of the newly minted "Special" Counsel, David Weiss, Judge Noreika has dropped the misdemeanor income tax charges against Hunter Biden, the assumption being that he plans to refile them in a more appropriate jurisdiction (either Washington D.C. or California). From Fox, Hunter Biden tax charges dismissed by federal judge following plea deal breakdown "Biden's plea deal on a felony gun charge fell through during his first court appearance last month." At Da Caller, Judge Approves Motion Allowing DOJ Prosecutors To Bring Charges Against Hunter Biden In A Different District. I have mixed feeling on this one. Refiling in DC or California almost certainly guarantees that Hunter will get a judge far more friendly to Biden than Noreika. On the other hand, I never thought the chances of getting a Delaware jury to convict Hunter were very good anyway. I just wish there were a way for the government to go after the millions of dollars lost when Weiss allowed the statute of limitations expire on a lot of the old influence peddling money. Charge conspiracy or something, which seems to be a popular charge. Breitbart, Special Counsel David Weiss Says Hunter Biden’s Sweetheart Plea Deal ‘Withdrawn’ and Null.

Lincoln Brown at PJM reports Comer Demands Private Emails Between Hunter and Joe From the National Archives. "Specifically, the Committee is interested in communications between Joe and Hunter and his business associates during Hunter’s business activities in Ukraine." Ace, Rep. Comer Demands that NARA -- Which Ginned Up the Classified Documents Case Against Trump -- Turn Over All Communications They Have Archived From Joe Biden's Illegal Alias, "Robert L. Peters". "The alias is illegal because federal officials are required to disclose all communications and making up a fake email account is how they evade this requirement." Breitbart, James Comer Demands NARA Provide All Documents for VP Biden’s Secret Pseudonym ‘Robert L. Peters’. Sundance at CTH, Chairman Comer Reveals Joe Biden Pseudonym “Robert L. Peters” Used During Business Emails Selling Govt Influence. PJM' Chris Queen thinks It's Like 'The Godfather,' Only Vito Corleone Is a Creeper. Nothing screams honesty like having to discuss business with your son using an alias. At TNP, Hunter Biden Paid to Remove Criminal Business Partner from Wikipedia. "Hunter Biden hired a team of high-priced consultants to doctor his Wikipedia page by talking up his supposed charity work and erasing references to business ties between himself, his father’s brother James, and Allen Stanford, a disgraced financier imprisoned for running a $7 billion Ponzi scheme."

Da Caller cites ALAN DERSHOWITZ: The Hunter Biden Special Counsel Appointment Is Blatantly Illegal, by statute, special counsels are supposed to be appointed from outside the government. From the Free Bacon, After DOJ's Reversal on Hunter Biden Special Counsel, the Media Still Suspect Nothing. First he had all the authority he needed, but then he was made "special."

Bob Hoge at Red State has a Report that Biden Obsesses Over Coverage of Hunter, Aides Afraid to Even Mention the Prodigal Son. From Da Caller, As Troubles Mount, Joe Biden Distances Himself From Hunter. "The president has not been spotted with Hunter Biden since the Fourth of July at the White House." Dan Greenfield at Front Page, has news that Biden Allowed Major Donor to Hand Advanced Military Tech to China "He refused to meet with national security officials warning against the deal." The best President you can buy with cash. Althouse finds Joe Rogan at NYT, "If I had to guess, I would say that all this stuff that’s coming out slowly but surely about Biden is on purpose, and they want to get rid of him." "I think he wants to run again, and I don’t think the Democrats think that he can win. I think they’re right, and I think they’re going to slowly but surely expose more of these very clear pieces of evidence of corruption." Breitbart claims an Exclusive–Conservative Leaders Call on House GOP to Open Impeachment Inquiry/ Yeah, yeah yeah. Da Caller again, ‘Discouraged’: Focus Group Of Minority Voters Express Dismay With Biden’s Job Performance. Steve Watson on the Summit has Videos: Biden Just Flat Out Lies Over And Over Again During Speech. It's his trademark move.

YaHoo! Voices: How Biden’s response to Hawaii wildfire disaster went so wrong. Capt. Ed, "The “no comment” likely resulted from a lack of comprehension of the question — but that’s also a problem for Biden. He made it worse with his half-assed aid package to the survivors of the destruction in Lahaina, a whopping $700 per person to tide them over after losing everything they owned. This is not so much a 3 AM phone call moment than it is Biden’s Hurricane Katrina, as Ed Driscoll wrote … if the press covered such things fairly." At the Victory Girls think the Biden Team is Trying To Backfill Empathy Deficit Regarding Maui. It shouldn't have been hard to come up with something like "Our hearts go out to everyone who lost family and home in the Maui fires, and we're looking at everything the Federal government can do to help." Jeff Reynolds at PJM notes Joe Biden Has Spent More Time on Vacation Than Any President in History, which doesn't matter, because he isn't really running things.

At Hat Hair VIP, Duane Patterson asks Could there be a 5th set of Trump indictments in Arizona? Sure, why not, it's beyond ridiculous at this point anyway. As long as they don't mind Biden being indicted in multiple red states. Charges? Who cares, conspiracy covers everything, you don't even need an illegal act. Johns Yoo and Shu at Newsweek, The Democrats Are Using Criminal Law to Fight Their Political Battles. It's Very, Very Dangerous. At WaEx, Donald Trump indicted: Newt Gingrich claims Democrats would 'destroy the law' to destroy Trump. From Da Caller, Fulton County DA Proposes Start Date For Trump Trial One Day Before Super Tuesday. John Davidson at Da Fed makes the case that The Purpose Of The Trump Indictments Is To Demonstrate The Left’s Power. "And it amounts to a threat: Imagine what we can do to you." Just remember the pendulum swings both ways. At Breitbart, Sen. John Kennedy Likens Trump’s ‘Unprecedented’ Indictments to Political ‘Zombie Apocalypse.’ It doesn't matter if the charges are DOA, there's just so many of them. At Spec World, We're all Georgians now "Pity the voters of Georgia." Dan Greenfield at Front Page, on How the DOJ Outsourced Trump’s Indictment to House Dems "Garland lied about the Trump investigation from the beginning."  "Three of the four charges in the indictment were adopted verbatim from the Democrat committee’s criminal referral. Smith swapped out the entirely unsupportable ‘insurrection’ charge for an anti-Klan law which among other things bans wearing costumes on highways." Lloyd Billingsley at Am Great Obama Judge Tanya Chutkan Joins the Trump Show Trial, "Forget banana-republic comparisons, it’s full-on Stalinist now." Harold Hutchinson at Da Caller hears Jonathan Turley Warn Georgia DA May Have ‘Tripped The Wire’ With Her ‘Jackson Pollock School Of Prosecution’ Approach. More like spaghetti, throw it against the wall and see if it sticks. From Fox, Georgia court clerk admits 'mishap' behind 'fictitious' Trump indictment: 'I am human'. "Ché Alexander said she 'hit save, it went to the press queue'" Another affirmative action hire. At PM, Georgia state senator moves to impeach Trump prosecutor Fani Willis. "Moore said, "We must strip all funding and, if appropriate, impeach Fani Willis." Political acts deserve a political response. NewsBusters note Nets Spend Over 60 Minutes on Trump’s Georgia Indictment, Ditch Biden. Sundance at CTH hosts President Trump Discusses the Georgia Case and the State of the Economy With Larry Kudlow. At Da Wire, Federal Prosecutors Gain Access To ‘Extraordinary Array Of Data’ From Twitter On Trump’s Account. Quantity maybe, but quality?

NewsMax reports Trump Cancels Press Conference on Election Fraud Claims. Capt. Ed, "Sounds like Trump’s lawyers actually got him to listen, for once. For now, anyway. I suspect that the attorneys impressed upon him the need to make sure his public statements don’t contradict his court filings in the criminal case, which is very good advice, as I said earlier. As for the “irrefutable report” being submitted in said court documents, I’d bet that the attorneys will be very careful in that regard; attorneys that submit knowingly false claims in court can find themselves disbarred, as Giuliani is discovering." If he does it he better have something. Herr Professor Jacobsen at LI says There Is No Endgame To Continuing To Relitigate the 2020 Election. It’s a Dead End. Relitigating now, but fact finding, yes. The Free Bacon as a FLASHBACK to When Democrats Were Cool With Calling Elections 'Stolen.' At TNP, CONFIRMED: Michigan Told FBI of 2020 Election Fraud Attempts, who, of course, did nothing.

Laura Loomer
Smitty at The Other McCain wonders How Do We Manage Compromise? "While Trump affords some distraction, and hormonal release for some, I have yet to hear a coherent reform plan from him." Hat Hair's KT wants to know Is Trump using a lefty defense lawyer and Laura Loomer to take down Ron DeSantis? Susan D. Harris at Am Think thinks "One Year After Mar-a-Lago, Trump's MAGA Movement Won't Be Silenced." Tristan Justice at Da Fed claims GOP Rep Aiming More Fire At Christian Tweet Than Trump Indictment Shows Why Republicans Keep Losing. Althouse read WaPoo, "I recall finding it a little jarring, back in 2016, to walk the corridors of the Republican convention in Cleveland and not see more than handful of Republicans I recognized from years past." "Writes Matt Bai, in "Trump won’t profess loyalty to his party. Neither will most Americans."

Jeffrey Carter turns proVivek "I Was Wrong About Vivek" He does seem to be gaining at the expense of DeSantis, but not Trump. PJM's Ben Bartee sees a  Poll: 48% of GOP Primary Voters Want RFK Jr. as CDC or FDA Director. We could do worse, and probably will, but he's still a nut.

Paul Bedard at WaEx hears Voters: Kamala Harris so bad she hurts Biden’s reelection. At Am Think, Joel Gilbert worries about The 2024 Michelle Obama Factor. I think she'd much rather be queen without doing the work.

From Da Blaze, Daniel Horowitz sees Record debt and inflation from the ‘Rich Men North of Richmond.’ Don Surber fears Another trillion-dollar bailout? "CNBC reported, “Fitch warns it may be forced to downgrade dozens of banks, including JPMorgan Chase.” Downgrading JP Morgan Chase’s credit is a huge alarm because JP Morgan Chase is the bank that bails out the government." Tom Hawking at Culturcidal has a list of 20 Things That Will Happen When No One Can Afford to Live in America Anymore

Ace,  DC Police, Prosecutors, and Politicians Allow Their Leftwing Allies to Attack Pro-Life Protesters In the Street Without Consequences "This isn't a government, it's merely the meeting hall for a violent, primitive tribe." Breitbart, Federal Court: D.C. ‘Selectively’ Enforced Law to Arrest Pro-Lifers but Not BLM Protesters. "A federal appeals court delivered a major free speech victory on Tuesday, ruling that Washington, D.C., officials “selectively” enforced a statute to arrest pro-life activists but not Black Lives Matter protesters in 2020."

Hat Hair's David Strom asks Did the CIA work to rig the 2020 election? "Not steal. But rig as in distorting the political landscape." Yes. Next question. Judicial Watch Sues CIA for Records about Its Role in Intel Letter Attacking Hunter Laptop Story Just Before Election. Capt. Ed comments "Someone needs to dig into this example of domestic-targeted misinformation and determine whether the CIA knowingly interfered in a presidential election. Will a FOIA demand work? Well, it won’t do any harm to try."

Sundance not impressed that Musk States X Platform Making Progress on Letting Users See Their Shadow Banning Status, "Elon Musk is not John Galt.  Remember that!" From NewsBuster, Raising White Flag? Rep. Buck Breaks Silence on Big Tech Censorship Battle. Capt. Ed. "This has to start now. It cannot go unchallenged through yet another election cycle." At Bearing Arms, New Jersey gun store and range faces off with Facebook over social media censoring.

At Hat Hair John Sexton laughs at  Jesse Singal's claim that The media just went along with critics of the NY Times' trans coverage. From Campus Reform UW-Milwaukee tells students polyamory has many 'benefits' like extra pets, or 'petamours', dangerously close to beastiality? Rick Moran at PJM, finds a Medical School Professor who Says Trans Kids Can Identify as 'Gender Hybrids' Like 'Minotaurs'. Some things are so stupid only an academic can believe them. At Da Wire, Joe Rogan Slams ‘Creepy’ Teachers For Trying To Indoctrinate Students With ‘Cartoon Porn.’ From Da Caller, Largest Virginia School District Defies Gov. Youngkin’s Guidance On Bathrooms, Pronouns That's easy, stop sending them state support.

Campus Reform reports Thomas Jefferson University president resigns after liking conservative tweets. Capt. Ed notes You will not be shocked to learn that an abject apology for offending the groupthink at TJU did not suffice. My advice to the next university official that has the temerity to ‘like’ thoughts on Twitter that are not preapproved by campus crybabies is: hire a lawyer and refuse to apologize."
