With the election just 25 days away, KATU is getting a look inside the Portland Police Bureau's new Rapid Response Team to deal with crowd control.
There is concern Portland could see unrest in the Rose City after Election Day, with riots and protests like the election in 2020 and during the pandemic.
That's why Portland Police Chief Bob Day reinstituted the team in June of this year.
Since then, more than 50 officers have been training once a month.
Riots in Portland? I wonder why they might expect that? Does it even matter who wins?
