A third warm, muggy, windless cloudy day in a row. A photo into what passes for the sun, with kayakers and a man just sitting on the jetty, "watching the tide roll away"
Looking back up the beach, to the north, a more friendly direction for photos.
The stream that separates Calvert Beach from the cottages was high today, from the rains two days ago, I guess. I had to lift Skye up over the culvert pipes that form the jetty.
Some sort of wild Mallow. This is probably Seashore Mallow (Kosteletzkya virginica). These are quite common out on the salt marshes at work, but this is the first I've seen on the beach. It was recently proposed as a source for biodiesel. I have my doubts that environmentalists are really serious about turning over all our salt marshes to oil production...
Another flower growing out the the Kudzu. It could be Jerusalem Artichoke (which has nothing to do with Jerusalem, and very little to do with artichokes), but I wouldn't bet the farm on that.
Three generations of beach walkers.
A cloudburst down and across the Bay. As we were getting back, it just started to rain a bit, although we really haven't gotten much yet.
