Aaron Rupar was among several left-wing journalists whose Twitter accounts got suspended Thursday for promoting the “doxxing” of Elon Musk’s private jet. Having been permanently suspended myself — for nothing — all I can say is, “Gosh, it’s terrible what’s happening to you.”
When I say I was suspended “for nothing,” what I mean is that the reason given — “participating in targeted abuse” — provided no explanation specific enough that it could be challenged, and this rule had been concocted just a few months prior to my February 2016 suspension.
If it comes to music references I would have chosen The Wheel, but, oh well. John Sexton at Haut Hair, Twitter bans journalists including Aaron Rupar and Keith Olbermann. At the Wombats In The Mailbox: 12.15.22 (Evening Edition) at Twitchy: Cue Lefty Meltdown While People Guess Why Aaron Rupar Got B&, also, Insane Has-Been Sports Guy, Other Leftists Also Get The Boot From Twitter, also Well DAMN! Many OTHER lefty accounts (including Keith Olbermann) have been suspended; UPDATE: Musk explains. Elon Musk@elonmusk replying to @elonmusk and @micsolana, "They posted my exact real-time location, basically assassination coordinates, in (obvious) direct violation of Twitter terms of service." Althouse, "Twitter has suspended the account of prominent liberal journalist Aaron Rupar as well as reporters from CNN, The New York Times and The Washington Post." David Strom at Haut Hair, Likely Antifa activist attacks Elon Musk's car and puts his son in danger. "That happened to Elon Musk last night. Online activists have been tracking his movements and reporting them on Twitter and elsewhere, and a masked man attacked a car that was carrying Musk’s young child “lil X.” (Yes, Musk gives his kids weird names). He clearly knew where Musk’s car was (he was not in it, but his son was)." Antifa are the Democrats food soldiers and guerillas. Liberals are no longer content with the story that Twitter is a private company and can ban anybody they want for any reason at all.

Scott Johnson at Power Line, has a A Twitter Files footnote. The Great VDH at Am Great compares Two Antithetical Billionaires, "The hatred of the accomplished Musk and the worship of the hollow man Bankman-Fried are sad commentaries on how liberalism has descended into progressivism and ultimately into Stalinism."
Capt. Ed at Haut Hair, More Trump: By the way, here's my free-speech and anti-censorship policy. Sundance at CTH, President Trump Announces Plan to Protect Free Speech and Digital Bill of Rights.
President Trump notes his position would be to dismantle the government systems that facilitate the censorship. President Trump notes he would sign an executive order banning any federal agency from censoring or limiting the free speech of American citizens. Additionally, President Trump noted he would ban federal money from being used to label domestic speech as misinformation or disinformation, along with firing any bureaucrat who has previously engaged in the domestic censorship, directly or indirectly, including within all agencies of the DHS, FBI or DOJ who have targeted the free speech rights of Americans.Ace, Trump Statement on Censorship, "Why he released his "MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT" on the same day as this, I have no idea." Althouse, "Donald Trump walked into a comic-book universe of internet mockery on Thursday, when in a carefully trailed announcement he introduced his 'official Donald Trump Digital Trading Card' collection..." "... with a picture of himself in superhero costume, cape and 'Trump Champion' belt...." Somebody pointed out that this is a pretty good way to launder political contributions.
Ace,
Trump Sues the Pulitzer Prize Board for Rewarding the New York Times and
Washington Post for Their False Reporting on "Russia Collusion"
Trump is suing the Pulitzer Prize Board over rewarding the New York Times and Washington Post for their Russia collusion stories, which turned out to be completely false.
I don't know what the actual cause of action is here -- I guess, maybe, defamation? It would be an atypical kind of defamation case, surely. I guess the theory would be that the Pulitzer Prize Board implicitly -- or, really, explicitly-- vouched for the false and defamatory claims in the story.
Stacey Lennox at PJ Media points out how Democrats Defend Free Speech for Chinese Citizens but Support Censoring Fellow Americans. Jack Hunter at Spec World asks How did free speech become a right-wing value? "As groups like the ACLU become more illiberal, conservatives have taken up the cause. Capt. Ed responds "My answer: Ever since the Left became tyrannical."
