Kamala Touts 'Equity' in Ian Aid, Feds Fund Censorship, Economic Collapse Continues

Surprisingly, Kamala Harris, usually a thoroughly ignorable person, rises to the top of today's new with her promise that the Biden Harris administration will dole out Hurricane Ian relief with "equity," a code word for protected minorities first. Beege Wellborn at Haut Hair, VP Harris' incoherency funny until it's not: Hurricane Ian disaster relief NOT based on "equity" or "race"

“We have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity. Understanding not everyone starts out at the same place, and if we want people to be in an equal place, sometimes we have to take into account those disparities,”

Sarah Hoyt at Insty, RACIST AND PROUD: Harris on Hurricane Ian: Biden Admin Will Give ‘Resources Based on Equity’ and to ‘Communities of Color’. At WaEx, DeSantis campaign claps back after VP says Ian aid will be 'based on equity'. "This is false. @VP's rhetoric is causing undue panic and must be clarified. FEMA Individual Assistance is already available to all Floridians impacted by Hurricane Ian, regardless of race or background. If you need assistance visit disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362," Pushaw tweeted." At Da Wire, Elon Musk Slams Kamala Harris For Racial Remarks About Distributing Disaster Assistance.

David Catron at Am Spec, Do Republicans Cause Hurricanes?

With the grim inevitability of Greek tragedy, three things always happen when a hurricane makes landfall in the United States. First, the storm will be touted by the corporate media as evidence that anthropogenic climate change presents an existential threat to humanity and the planet. Second, anyone who dares question the accuracy of this claim will be either ignored or denounced as a dangerous anti-science “denier.” Third, if the hurricane happens to hit a state with a GOP governor, he will be blamed for causing any resultant death and destruction.

Speaking of Harris, Don Surber notices the media defending her Nork gaffe, Calling North Korea an ally is "deft diplomacy." Ben Whedon at JTN Biden hints at presidential future for Harris, "Much speculation has surrounded whether Biden plans to run for reelection in 2024." You know they have to say it. They don't have to mean it. Fox notes even Bill Maher suggests Biden bump Kamala Harris from Dem ticket in 2024: 'I just think she's a bad politician'. KT at Haut Hair, Maher goes there: Go ahead and keep Biden but get rid of Kamala on the 2024 ticket. At WaEx, Republicans call for Biden to take cognitive test over 'Where's Jackie' gaffe

At Zero Hedge, Biden CDC Awarded Millions To Soros-Funded Activist Group Suing DeSantis. Weaponization of the Federal Government. The College Fix claims a Shock report: Universities get $3 million from feds after helping government censor election integrity stories. It takes more than that to shock me. Greg Piper and John Solomon at JTN note Outsourced censorship: Feds used private entity to target millions of social posts in 2020 "Biden administration gave millions in tax dollars to groups after election, records show. Election Integrity Partnership says it had 35% success rate getting tech platforms to label, remove or restrict content." and Enemies list? Fed-backed censorship machine targeted 20 news sites. "Just the News, New York Post, Fox News, Epoch Times and Breitbart were identified among the "most prominent domains" whose election coverage was cited in tweets flagged by the Election Integrity Partnership and its collaborators."

At Haut Hair VIP, Matt Vespa worries Will the Trump-DeSantis nomination fight uplift the debate -- or damage both?

The Wa Free Bee sees The GOP Cavalry Arrives "Column: Republicans recover after summer stumbles." I think it's just that the Dems and media made their moves too soon, out of desperation. Sarah Arnold at Town Hall reports on Abbott and O’Rourke Clash in First and Only Debate. Newt Gingrish explains why he thinks Why Joe O’Dea Can Beat Sen. Michael Bennet in Colorado. "There is a real possibility that most Coloradans are going to say “this just isn’t working.”

John Sexton at Haut Hair, Stacey Abrams loses Georgia voting rights lawsuit on all counts. Hoyt at Insty, BUT, BUT, BUT SHE WUZ ROBBED: Judge Rules Against Stacey Abrams’ Group Contesting 2018 Georgia Gubernatorial Election.

Hans Mahncke @HansMahncke "Strzok's dismissal letter was published today: "In my 23 years in the FBI, I have not seen a more impactful series of missteps that has called into question the entire organization and more thoroughly damaged the FBI’s reputation."" Go read the whole thing. Pete McArdle at Am Think says Thanks for nothing, John Durham. At some point it became apparent that Durham was more concerned with not rocking the DOJ boat than getting to the bottom of the DOJ and FBI interference in the 2016 election. Ryan King at WaEx hears from Stefanik that Republicans will investigate FBI misconduct if they retake House. They certainly will, and the liberal media will downplay it if they cover it at all, and the Biden administration will refuse to act on it.

Time for a bit of catch up on the economy. Bureau of Economic analysis admits (via Haut Hair) that Final Q2 real GDP remains at -0.6%; real DPI down -1.5%. Capt. Ed at Haut Hair, Biden's game of inches: Real disposable personal income plunges in final Q2 GDP report -- and in Q1 too. The Peacock admits Dow tumbles 500 points on Friday to end September down nearly 9%.  Ace, Fox News: Final Revision of Second Quarter GDP Is Negative 0.6%, "Cementing Start of Recession."
The Dow fell another 458 points. We'll be under 29,000 next week. And then Katie Bar the Door. The estimate for the next quarter has continued to fall and is now down to 0.2%, and that's an optimistic 0.2%. But the previous quarter, the spring quarter, is now finally fixed at having contracted 0.6%. And, as Fox Business says, this cements the start of the recession that Biden's henchmen say they're just not quite ready to declare yet. They need more data, you see

'Bonchie' at Red State finds Past Statements Come Back With a Vengeance to Haunt Joe Biden and Ron KlainRonald Klain@WHCOS "This is a WH that cares about main street, not Wall Street. But given that the "former guy" predicted a stock market "CRASH" under@POTUS, this  merits some notice. quoting Ryan Struyk@ryanstruyk "Nov 2, 2021, CNN: Dow Jones Industrial Average closes above 36,000 for the first time."  RNC Research@RNCResearch "BIDEN in January: The stock market has hit “record after record on my watch!” NOW: The stock market has lost trillions in value since Biden took office." At Twitchy, ‘Hang it in the Louvre’: Another Ron Klain boast (an attempted dunk on Trump) is aging like fine milk in the summer sun. At Haut Hair KT hears speculation, Is Janet Yellen on her way out of the White House after the midterm elections?

Jazz Shaw at Haut Hair says that despite Brandon's insistence, No, gas prices are not still going down. Duan Patterson at HH VIP, Joe Biden’s Jedi mind trick on gas prices isn’t going to work. Steven Hayward at Power Line, California Didn’t Get the Memo. Breitbart, Joe Biden Warns Gas Stations Not to Raise Prices After Hurricane Despite Draining Petroleum Reserves.

“Do not. Let me repeat. Do not. Do not use this as an excuse to raise gasoline prices or gouge the American people” . . . Biden said the price of oil “remained relatively low” and there was no reason for prices to go up, even though oil companies have evacuated offshore oil and natural gas fields in the Gulf of Mexico in anticipation of the storm.

Ace, Biden Now Blames the Hurricane and Mom and Pop Gas Stations for the High Gas Prices His Strategy of Deliberate Scarcity and Suppression of Oil Production Is Causing, "Confiscate the kulaks' farms and kill them, and then blame the dead traitors for the poor yields. It's been part of the authoritarians' playbook since the 1930s." From atop Da Hill, Exxon, Biden administration spar over fuel exports "“Continuing current Gulf Coast exports is essential to efficiently rebalance markets—particularly with diverted Russian supplies,” said the letter, according to The Wall Street Journal. “Reducing global supply by limiting U.S. exports to build region-specific inventory will only aggravate the global supply shortfall.”"

Capt. Ed, Exclusive: Attorney challenging Biden's Academia bailout says they have more than standing -- they have a solid case

Ilya Somin weighed in on the question of concrete harm at The Volokh Conspiracy. The harm does not have to be profound, and it doesn’t even really have to be the main motivation for bringing the suit, he points out. Standing is like a ticket for entry, and Somin thinks PLF and Garrison have a good ticket to punch here:
This strategy strikes me as sound. It may seem silly that a plaintiff can get standing based on a relatively small financial loss like this one, but taxpayers as a class are not allowed to get it based on the vastly greater fiscal liability Biden’s plan saddles them with, collectively. But that kind of silliness is built into the Supreme Court’s standing precedents, which allow standing based on even a very small individualized material harm (as little as $1 will suffice!), but deny it even for very large fiscal impacts imposed on taxpayers as a class. If you think this is ridiculous, I agree! In my view, the entire doctrine of standing is extremely dubious, and the Supreme Court should abolish it. But that isn’t likely to happen anytime soon.

At NYPo, Biden administration tightens student loan forgiveness amid legal challenges "In a reversal from Biden’s original sweeping proposal in August to cancel federal student loans up to $20,000, the US Department of Education announced Thursday that it would not forgive debt from borrowers whose student loans are owned by private entities."
