After last night's hard freeze (25 F when we checked this morning) we were in no rush to get down to the beach and face subfreezing weather and 20 mph wind. However, by afternoon, the temperatures were up near 40, and the wind down below 10 mph, and we decided to try the falling tide.
Dirty sea foam formed large drifts left over from the higher winds. Fossil hunting was poor, only 5 little teeth.
The Kudzu on the cliffs is hit pretty hard by the frost, and it's already starting to wither (like our basil, tomatoes and impatiens). Another week or so, and the cliffs will be nearly bare again.
And the wind has torn one of the flags that flies over the cliff.
