Despite the reputation of Rome and Romans, both ancient and modern, as patriarchal miscreants, the sculptors of Rome have devoted a lot or marble to celebration of the female form. This post is dedicated to the hard women of Rome.

First, one of the Winged Victories atop the relatively modern monument to the unification of Italy, followed by an ancient Roman depiction of Diana from the Forum.
