Look at the size of that rock that got jammed into the hull of that ship. It was reported it stuck the rock at cruising speed, and that makes it pretty damn clear. Reputedly, cruise ship captains made (I hope this is past tense) it a point to cruise by close to Giglio because a number of retired cruise ship captains retired there. The captain claims to have been 300 meters off the coast, in an area where nothing showed on the chart. If he was showing off and cut it a little close? His career is over in any case, the only question is how much criminal liability he faces.
