Born outside of Nashville and raised in the Florida panhandle, Valen grew up immersed in the DIY scene. When the pandemic hit in 2020, Valen turned to the internet to find her audience, playing new music and lending her voice to reimagined guitar covers of everything from Aerosmith to BROADWAY TUNES.
Valen’s sound is an amalgamation of cultures, scenes and decades. Her youthful voice is front and center in her music, viscerally narrating moments of misunderstandings and heartbreak over jangly acoustic guitar and indie rock-folk instrumentals. Valen’s poetic writing style is reminiscent of anti-folk bands like The Moldy Peaches and indie-pop band fun. – whimsical and raw with a distinctly DIY ethos.
