Sauron's Eye whines TikTok trend tracking UV index for tanning is "alarming," dermatologist says. 

"It's incredibly alarming. They're using it to optimize the amount of time they need to spend sun tanning and getting as dark as possible," said Dr. Cynthia Nicholson, a pediatric dermatologist with M Health Fairview.

Of course, you don't have to go to TikTok to find the local UV index. A quick Google revealed Calvert Cliffs State Park UV Index, which showed the UV index locally peaked at about 7.5 (High!) around 1 PM, just about the time we walked on the beach. The max, like the Spinal Tap amps, are 11.
