Brazilian Study Sheds Light on Greenhouse Gas Sequestration on Coffee
Farms
A study carried out by Brazil-based NGO the
Institute of Forest and Agricultural Management and Certification
(Imaflora) found that coffee plantations may sequester more carbon emissions
than they emit when practices such as organic fertilizer are used. The study
involved 20 farms associated with the
Cerrado Coffee Growers’ Cooperative
(Expocacer).
