Beach Report 7/16/23

A big front moved in last night, and lasted until late in the morning here, giving us 1.2 inches of rain. In the late afternoon, with the sun finally out, Georgia, Skye and I went for a beach walk.
The water was dirty, and fairly rough, and the beach largely sandy, making fossil hunting tough. We found 3 shark's teeth between us (and one porgy tooth) . . .
But Georgia found this lovely little lower Mako (at least according to the local expert) sitting high and dry after we had already passed that point once.

The next two are from yesterday, a couple of modern day petroglyphs carved into the clay cliff at Matoaka. Strictly speaking, people shouldn't be carving into the cliff, but these are pretty shallow and should erode away fairly quickly.
