KT at Haut Hair, Olena Zelenska, First Lady of Ukraine, rallies Ukrainians
Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska once opposed her husband’s plan to run for President of Ukraine, She stayed out of the spotlight until Zelensky was elected. She has since embraced her role and is being heralded for her efforts to rally Ukrainians as the country comes under attack from Russia.
Olena is Zelensky’s most staunch supporter and is remaining in Ukraine with him, along with their two children, a 17-year-old daughter, and a 9-year-old son. Unlike, say, Justin Trudeau and his family, the first family of Ukraine is staying put and offering support and inspiring perseverance to fellow Ukrainians. She has been using Instagram to get out messages of encouragement. She posted a strong message just hours after the first bombings occurred.
‘My dear people! Ukrainians! I’m looking at you all today. Everyone I see on TV, on the streets, on the Internet. I see your posts and videos. And you know what? You are incredible!
‘I am proud to live with you in the same country! It is said that many people are a crowd. This is not about us. Because many Ukrainians are not crowds. This is an army!
‘And today I will not have panic and tears. I will be calm and confident. My children are looking at me. I will be next to them. And next to my husband. And with you. Love you! I love Ukraine.’
She met Zelensky at Kryvyi Rih National University. She studied to be an architect, winning a place to study architecture at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, while Zelensky studied law. He went on to pursue a career as a comedian and actor while she remained behind the cameras. She became a writer for his comedy troupe.
A beauty queen and former Miss Grand Ukraine has apparently traded in her high heels for combat boots, joining the Ukrainian military in its push against the Russian invasion.
Anastasia Lenna, Ukraine’s 2015 representative in the Miss Grand International beauty contest, has answered the call to defend her home, according to her Instagram account.
“Everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the intent to invade will be killed!” said one post made in English on Saturday, accompanied by a photo of armed soldiers blocking a roadway.
Another post joked that “Our [Ukraine’s] army is fighting in such a way that NATO should apply for entry into Ukraine.”
She also shared a photo to her 75,000 followers showing soldiers walking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whom she called “a true and strong leader.”
Since the launch of the invasion Wednesday, the model has shared a string of posts on her Instagram Story urging support and soliciting donations to the Ukrainian armed forces.
However at TNP, we find DEBUNKED: Corporate Media’s Top Trending Ukraine Stories Turn Out To Be Complete Fakes.
The story of former Miss Grand Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna joining Ukraine’s military to fight against Russia also turned out to be false despite amassing thousands of likes and shares across social media platforms. While the photo of Lenna is from one of her recent Instagram posts, where she expressed support for Ukraine against Russian forces, the gun in the popular picture is actually an airsoft rifle.
Even “conservative” outlets like Breitbart News peddled the propaganda, which in turn led to Lenna clarifying the lack of her military status, writing “I AM NOT A MILITARY, JUST A HUMAN” in a post five days later.
I don't care, she's still supporting her country.
Know what you get when you arm civilians? Armed combatants. Legitimate targets of the other side's military. This will make determining the existence of atrocities on civilian and Russian war crimes virtually impossible.
