50 Years Ago Today

Apollo 11 landed on the Moon, and Neil Armstrong stepped out and became the first man to walk on another world, albeit, a smallish and lifeless one.

That day, I was camping with my family in Oregon, and we didn't have TV, or a radio other than in the car, and really didn't think about it so much, although we did hear about it.

If you want to see better video of the actual first steps go to Watts Up With That, where Anthony Watts posted  MUST SEE – Restored historic Apollo 11 “small step for man” video – like you’ve never seen it. #MoonLanding50

Althouse posted some nonsense about Norman Mailer.

Why haven't we been back since Apollo 12 17? (That's what happens when you don't read past the jump.) Thanks Red!

  1. Actually the last trip was Apollo 17, unless you don't believe those flights happened.
