One day you wash up on the beach, wet and naked. Another day you wash back out. In between, the scenery changes constantly.

Huh! How Did I Get Here?
We found this male Box Turtle sitting on a clay block next to the water along the cliffs up the beach a ways. Our best guess, judging from all the clay smudges on him, is that he tumbled down the cliff from the woods above, and managed to land right side up.
Honoring the prime directive, we left him there to figure out his own solution. If he's still there tomorrow, maybe we'll give him a life back to more suitable habitat.
Otherwise, a coolish cloudy day, with a north wind that kept the surf stirred up, and the fossil hunting hard, only 4 teeth, one of which I gave away to a couple with two young girls also hunting for fossils in exchange for pets for Skye.
