It was 88 F in the shade, with a good dose of humidity when Skye and I headed off for the beach after lunch. Siberians aren't really designed for 88 degrees, and she spent a lot of time trying to cool off in the water.
We had the beach pretty much free to ourselves (there were a few people up by the marina, but not many)
Skye's favorite friend Cindy and Georgia talk while I catch up. Cindy carries a pocket full of dog treats, and Skye can hardly contain her joy when she sees her.
Another fossil hunter up in the clay blocks north past Matoaka Cottages. Not a great day for teeth, only 18 between the two of us, and none picture worthy.
This photo from a few days ago shows the last remnants of the winter duck population, a pair of Buffies (and a crab float).
A Summer (or is it Spring) Azure. I can't tell the difference. The first show up in early spring, the last end in fall. I call 'em Spring Azures during spring, and Summer Azures once summer starts. I guess that makes it a Spring Azure.
One of the first Spicebush Swallowtails I've spotted this year, puddling on the beach.
And an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.
