We realized today that we had only been to the beach once so far in December, due to life, chores, and lousy weather (we've had a fair amount of rain). Today, however, it was bright and sunny, though cool at 45 F, and a bit breezy from the south.
We almost had the beach to ourselves; Ray was down looking for shark's teeth (it was a poor day, we only found 12, and one other regular walker and her dog. But the birds were out. This Cormorant was fishing off the south jetty when we arrived.
This lone peep looking for morsels in the sand before heading south.
A gull finding his in the splash zone.
Buffleheads off the beach a ways, diving to the bottom for small clams and worms.
