One day you wash up on the beach, wet and naked. Another day you wash back out. In between, the scenery changes constantly.

First Frost
With the edge of the so called Polar Vortex upon us, the temperature plunged today. It now stands at 29 F, and may go lower later tonight and tomorrow morning. Fortunately, we brought all the non-frost hardy plants indoors yesterday.
I think all the media talk about the "Polar Vortex" breakout is just BS. If you look at this map for first frost dates in Maryland, we're just about exactly on time. We're almost exactly on the boundary between light and dark blue:
