Summer has returned with a vengeance; temperatures soaring to 90, with humidity well up into the obnoxious range. No sign of relief on the horizon, or even in the tree line, as temps and humidity are supposed to stay high all week. After a big weekend, the beach is almost deserted.
The flowers are near the end, and the number of insects visiting the mysterious "butterfly bush". However, I did get a good shot of this little skipper (
Sachem?).

The Ospreys are still frantically fishing. Not too long before they have to have the kids fledged and feeding, and ready to move south.
A "red" or mahogany tide. Interesting in that the water on the other side of the jetty was pretty clear. There's is
talk that major algal blooms, and more hypoxia have been created late in the year as a result of the heavy rains we had a few weeks ago. Could be, but this would not be that unusual.
