I’ve been listening to Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence since its June release and here’s my review: gay conversion therapy is notoriously ineffective, but if I hear another Lana Del Rey song, I might switch teams on my own. Lana Del Rey makes me wish I were straight.I'm proud (and a little scared) to be a member of her (apparently) preferred gender.
It’s ironic, then, that the woman who first introduced me to her music is now my partner. We’re as queer as they come but, when Lana croons, I can close my eyes and picture myself in the passenger seat of a Bugatti Veyron, cruising down the LIE to the Hamptons with “my bad baby by my heavenly side.” We’re the man-hating lesbians of right-wing nightmares but Lana somehow makes me want to “take a walk on the wild side” and “kiss [a man] hard in the pouring rain.”
It helps that she seems to be a ginger, at least in most incarnations.
GOODSTUFF has his 150th magazine episode out featuring, among other things, Victoria Principal. Linked at The Daley Gator in "THE LINKS YOU SHOULD BE READING". Also see the Daley Gator Babe of the Day, every day. Pirate's Cove has this linked up in the weekly "Sorta Blogless Sunday Pinup" and links. Don't forget his frequent "If All You See…" posts. And at Blackmailers Don't Shoot in "Rule 5 Round Up With Iggy Azalea", but not her music. It finally got listed a week late in Wombat-socho's "Rule 5 Sunday: Dirty Denim" a week late, and a dollar short, because I forgot to send it off.
And now, some vaguely appropriate music:
Lana Del Rey is actually a blond.
