As state officials reduced revenue projections by about $238 million Thursday, lawmakers were told to consider cuts, including a shift of $10 million from projects to clean up the Chesapeake Bay.You don't say.
The Maryland Board of Revenue Estimates released revised figures that compared to the numbers released in December are $127 million less for the current fiscal year and $111 million less for fiscal 2015.
State Comptroller Peter Franchot, the board chairman, said this reflects poor economic performance in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Franchot said that while the state is cautiously optimistic going forward, revenues were cut by a harsh winter and the “slowest, most anemic economic recovery” in memory.
