A swimming and wading advisory has been issued for part of the Chesapeake Bay from Starfish Road to Rockbridge due to increased bacteria levels in the water.I'll bet after this round of storms washes all the $#!* off the land, there will be a lot more beach closures around the Bay region.
The Health Department tested the water and found the levels exceeded State Water Quality Standards. Officials regularly monitor recreational waters for bacteria.
This advisory does not apply to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront or resort area officials say.
Signs will be posted on the Beach to alert the public about the advisory. Once the levels meet state standards, the signs will be removed and the advisory will be lifted.
One day you wash up on the beach, wet and naked. Another day you wash back out. In between, the scenery changes constantly.
