Virginia Gets the Bill for Its Share of the Bay Diet

Bay cleanup to cost Virginia up to $15.7B, far more than administration estimated:

A state legislative report says cleaning the Chesapeake Bay could cost Virginians $13.6 billion to $15.7 billion.

Gov. Bob McDonnell’s administration had estimated the cost at $7 billion to $10 billion.

The cleanup costs would be spread over the next 14 years because the deadline for installing measures to clean the bay is 2025. Sixty percent of the measures, such as fences to keep cattle out of streams, are to be in place by 2017.

Is anyone shocked by the revelation that the costs of Virginia's portion of the Bay cleanup will be more than initially expected?  Did you ever hear of Cheops' Law?  Will you be equally shocked when the results of the clean up are less than initially promised?
