what your country can do for you, but rather what your country can squeeze out of you.
This is so rich in irony I'm having trouble coming up with a title inane enough to capture it all. First, President Obama calls Hawaii part of Asia (he should know, he was allegedly born there, if we believe the paperwork), and calls for sacrifice on the part of Americans to help solve our common economic problems (i.e., "give me more tax money"):
Then, President Obama tells CEO's that "We’ve been a little bit lazy over the last couple of decades." This is the sort of argument Stalin used when the 5 year plans weren't progressing as expected (did they ever?).
Finally, we find out The Obama administration pushed on Solyndra to push off layoff at the company until after the 2010 elections to avoid bad press.
Just a few examples of the kind of sacrifices members of the President's party are making:
Nancy Pelosi and her rich husband got a sweet and lucrative deal on an initial public offering (IPO) for VISA, while the credit card company was lobbying her to stop regulation of the swipe fees.
Sen. Diane Feinstein just lucked into a million dollar investment in an alternative energy IPO just before the Obama administration dumped 24 million dollars in grant money on the company.
Warren Buffet wrote a four page plan on how to deal with the bank failure problem for Treasury Secretary Paulson, then proceeded to invest based on this plan, and made billions for his company, Berkshire Hathaway.
Yeah, let's all join in this sacrifice. I guess some of us already have...
