Gays express more concern about the environment than heterosexuals, and the gap between them is growing as U.S. adults overall espouse fewer "green attitudes" than in 2009, finds a recent Harris Poll.I'm inclined to believe that gays at least believe they are more environmentally conscious than straight people. In my years in the environmental field, I've often noted that gays seemed over represented in the field compared to the world at large, and that the gays in the field tended to be among the more "vocal" (OK, naggy) than most on environmental topics. But, they are rarely faced with having to wash cloth diapers for juice box sucking monsters, too...
Gay adults are more likely than heterosexuals to express concern for the environment, according to a recent Harris Poll. Overall, though, the poll finds Americans were less likely than in 2009 to take green steps such as buying Energy Star appliances.
Most (55%) of lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT) adults say they "personally care a great deal about the current state and future of the environment," compared with 33% of heterosexuals, according to the Harris Interactive survey. Also, 40% of LGBT adults say they "encourage others to be more environmentally friendly," compared with 24% of heterosexuals...
One day you wash up on the beach, wet and naked. Another day you wash back out. In between, the scenery changes constantly.
