The name change apparently worked, as no one seems to mention this fact, or the fact that Andy Slavitt, the new 2nd in command at CMS, was the CEO of Ingenix who had to testify in the Senate about his role in the scandal in 2009. Sen. Rockefeller (D.W.V.) told Slavitt at the time: "I don't know how you sleep at night." I guess that has all been forgotten thanks to generous contributions to politicians and meager settlements of class action lawsuits where the defrauded individuals and doctors received a few pennies on the dollar for the benefits they should have been provided.
