Election 2020: Jan. 6 "Insurrection" Commission Opens

And it's everything you expected. All emotion. Fox, Jan. 6 committee, after partisan battle over appointees, holds first hearing on Capitol attack, "First hearing to focus on experience of front-line officers during attack by pro-Trump mob." From the Wombat's In The Mailbox: 07.27.21, John Hinderacker at Power Line: 1/6 Show Trial Gets Underway "We Republicans may have our faults, but if we were actually going to stage an insurrection, at least one of us would remember to bring a firearm." Bruce Thornton at Front Page  discusses The Duplicitous Jan. 6 'Insurrection' Melodrama, "Dems’ tactics camouflaged with sophistries and logical fallacies."

CNS News cites Nancy Pelosi: ‘Insurrectionists Attempted to Overthrow the Government’ but at Law Officer, DOJ quietly acknowledges there was no sedition at the US Capitol.

A truth bomb from Gabe Kaminsky at Da Fed, Democrats On Performative Capitol Riot Commission Made More Election Challenges Than Republicans Pelosi Kicked Off. Kyle Reynolds at Da Caller recounts how McCarthy Slams Pelosi After Tapping Cheney, Kinzinger For Jan. 6 Committee, ‘She’s Broken Congress’ and from PM, Jim Jordan and Jim Banks slam Jan 6 committee for not wanting to 'get to the truth'. The truth? They can't handle the truth! Politico feigns concern about whether  McCarthy is prepared for Trump’s wrath about the Jan. 6 committee. AllahPundit at Hot Hair, Liz Cheney at first January 6 hearing: We need to know what happened at every minute in the White House that day. Including the potty stops. Breitbart, Exclusive — Poll: Liz Cheney’s Polling Plummeting with Wyoming Republican Voters. At WaEx, Jan. 6 committee could be final hurrah for Cheney and Kinzinger.  They doesn't care, they're going for a post-political careers as  lefty pundits pretending to be conservative. CNS News listens to Schiff: 'There Are a Number of Tools That We Could Use' to Compel Testimony from Trump, McCarthy Thumbscrews or waterboarding? Across 'the pond' at Da Mail, Justice Department rules Trump officials CAN be asked to testify in upcoming hearings on the January 6 attack.

And on to the hearing itself. A trio of posts from sundance at CTH, Perfection in Agitprop – Adam Schiff and Adam Kinzinger Compete for Best Actor in a Made for TV Dramatic Series: “The Killing Feelz”, Performance Theater – Soon to Be Unemployed Adam Kinzinger Cries During J6 Performance While Auditioning for CNN or MSNBC Job and J6 Committee Hearing Has The Same Lawfare Producers, Directors and Script Writers as Christine Blasey Ford “Beach Friend” Hearing, so we can expect the same level of "truthiness." Ace, The Crying Game: Tears Flow Like Soy at Partisan Democrat Re-Imagining of The Worst Day In American History "Testicrying." Streif at Red State, January 6 Commission Star Witness Has a History of Hating President Trump and Supporting Riots That Aren't Where He's Working and Jordan Davidson at Da Fed (from the Wombat's In The Mailbox: 07.27.21), Teary Capitol Police Officer Who Testified About January 6 Previously Defended Violent George Floyd Riots In Kenosha

Jerry Dunleavy at WaEx, Debunked claims Officer Sicknick died from Capitol riot injuries reemerge at Day One hearing, of course. If the "truth" don't fit . . . And Nice Deb at Am Great finds yet another "insurrection" as Left-Wing Agitators Try to Disrupt GOP Presser Demanding Transparency on Jan. 6 Detainees. Geller (via the Wombat), Ashli Babbitt’s Mom: Nancy Pelosi Orchestrated The Killing Of My Daughter. She's not above it.

Julie Kelly at Am Great on Five Years Later: The Spawn of Crossfire Hurricane
The five-year arc from July 2016 to July 2021 is stunning.

It took less than five years from the time the Justice Department told a secret court that Carter Page was a foreign agent to the Justice Department telling a federal judge that a working-class Trump supporter from Florida is a domestic terrorist.

It took less than five years from the time the FBI ambushed National Security Advisor Michael Flynn in the White House to the FBI ambushing Iraq war veterans and Alaskan spa owners in their own homes. And it took less than five years from the time Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was placed in solitary confinement under a pre-trial detention order to dozens of Trump supporters languishing in solitary confinement conditions in jail under pre-trial detention orders for mostly nonviolent crimes.

Meanwhile, those protected by the legal system and the news media roam free—and continue to rake in the dough.
And that concludes the Jan 6 portion of todays coverage, and I didn't even bother with WaPoo, which is full of weepy recounts.

In audit news, via the Daily Gator, BREAKING BIG: Wisconsin Moves Forward with Election Forensic Audit …UPDATE: With Clements and Keshel Video. Good. Daniel Chaitin  Kaelan Deese, at WaEx, Arizona Senate issues audit subpoena for Maricopa County routers, but Dan Payne at JTN thinks Enforcement of Arizona Senate's Maricopa subpoena 'unlikely' with reported GOP holdout, "County failed to comply with first Senate subpoena; "critical" routers still remain unavailable to auditors." It seems like there's always one. And from Christian Smith at JTN, Pennsylvania Senate leaders question 'aggressive' decertification of voting machines. Democrats don't trust voting machines in Republican hands. I wonder why? Jeff Lord at Am Spec reports on how the  PA Lt. Gov. Lies to TX Legislators About Voter Fraud in His State. Margot Cleveland at Da Fed explains Why Democrats’ Massive Effort To Suppress Election Concerns Is Dangerous, "Americans should see 2020 and the January 6 riot as a wake-up call to the future our nation faces should election integrity not be restored." Paul Bedard at WaEx claims a Majority vote ‘No’ on Democratic plan to federalize elections

Via the Wombat, LI's Mike LeChance finds Democrats and Media Already Trying to Spin 2022 Losses Over Voter ID and Breitbart reports Florida Democrats Face ‘F—ing Shellacking’ in Cuban-Heavy South Florida Districts   Don't get cocky. Mary Chastain at LI is happy that the  GOP Hopes to Elect More Republican Females to the House in 2022, "Over 150 females have filed to run in the 2022 midterm election. The GOP needs five seats to take back the majority."

Jake Dima at WaEx reports that the Texas Fleebaggers have resorted to begging, Absent Texas Democrats ask public to donate soda, salsa, and hair spray. Apparently they have a taste for Dr. Pepper. Mary Chastain at LI responds  to Texas Democrats Who Fled the State Scorched for Asking for Care Packages, “How about instead we donate these things to people who are actually in need — anyone know a good charity in Dallas?
