The Beach Today

The heat (and humidity) was on again today, peaking out at 86 F, before a late afternoon thunder storm dropped it back to 70. But we walked right after lunch, and stayed dry, well, except wading in the surf.
Way up the beach at Matoaka and beyond.
A large Northern Water Snake trying to get out of our way as we walked past. Non-venomous, though often confused with Water Moccasins (that don't live here), they are vicious if provoked.
The girls out ahead of me as I pick along slowly. Poor tooth hunting, only 8 teeth.
A couple of Canada Geese in the wrong season. Probably residents, they may be trying to make a nest somewhere nearby.
