Sunday Memorial Day Weekend at the Beach

Sunday Memorial Day weekend, around noon, quite possibly the busiest day of the year for the beach.  Despite having a gate guard to make sure that everybody was part of the community, the beach was pretty well packed.  Another gorgeous day.
The first Monarch butterfly of the year, on the wild Milkweed that is in the sand dunes, and which just flowered. Since Monarchs rely on Milkweed for their caterpillars to grow on, I hope it was laying eggs as well as having a sip.
Sex segregation on a boat that was anchored out a little offshore.
 But not here.
Let me fix that picture for you.
Another "first" butterfly for the year, this Spicebush Swallowtail butterfly. Note the comet shaped blue mark amid the inner line of orange dots; the quickest way to tell it from the much rarer (I think) Black Swallowtail.
A brave little dog ventures into the big scary Chesapeake in search of thrown ball.
Not a first spotting, but a first photo; a Clouded Sulphur butterfly, also in the Milkweed.
Time to come into port, and the ladies are still lounging around on bow, while the men are manfully suffering at the helm.
