Rule 5 Friday - I Almost Forgot - Poppy Montgomery

Rule 5 Saturday done come early this week, because I'll be traveling Saturday.

This week's subject is Poppy Montgomery, TV actress and star of "Without a Trace" (2002-2009) and star of the ongoing "Unforgettable" (2011- ?).

Born with the somewhat unwieldy name  Poppy Petal Emma Elizabeth Deveraux Donahue, she hails from Sydney Australia (a nice town, I must say). Her parents apparently like flowers as her sisters were named Rosie Thorn, Daisy Yellow, Lily Belle, and Marigold Sun, and her lone brother got Jethro Tull, (British agriculturalist, and not the band I suspect).

She apparently a rebellious student:
expelled from six private academies before finally dropping out at age 15 to pursue stage acting and to also travel around Bali with her then-boyfriend. Montgomery emigrated to the United States at age 18, arriving in Florida to meet a boy whom she'd met when he was an exchange student. After five days, she realized "I couldn't stand him" and then took a bus to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
His loss is our gain.

One of her great claims to fame is have been one party in the first lesbian kiss on US network TV, 1996 on the show "Relativity".  I don't remember it.

That's about it; more pictures of Poppy below the jump:

My belated thanks to Wombat-Socho for linking this in "Rule 5 Tuesday" at The Other McCain, and also to The Classical Liberal who linked it with "She's the Woman."  I also thank William Teach at Pirates Cove for picking this up in his "Sorta Blogless Sunday and Pinup", while Ted is pushing Ursula Andress at "A Man, A Dog, and A Gun".
