Yes, They Really Do Talk Like This

Progress for the Bay, but Failure for our Climate
"We are sucking at the teat of seductively cheap fossil-fuel-based energy sources that are altering our planet, making our weather wacky and dangerous, making our kids sick, putting toxic chemicals into the ground, and helping to kill the Chesapeake Bay. Marylanders know we need clean energy. And poll after poll has shown that a majority of us want clean, local offshore wind power.
And yes, we want unicorns and fairies too, but until them we'll have to settle for power that actually works.  The same people who will scream and volunteer us to pay for their highly speculative and unproven energy resources will be the first to oppose a truly clean and safe form of power, nuclear.

Never mind that every step you take, every move you make "alters the planet" (It's those damn laws of thermodynamics which keep mucking things up), there's no evidence for "making our weather wacky and dangerous" (at least more whacky and dangerous than it would be in our absence), there's no support for the idea that power production is making kids sick (if you want your kids to be sick, keep them indoors where they'll be exposed to more pollutants), and yes, there are "toxic" chemicals.  Every chemical is potentially toxic, even oxygen and water.  The dose makes the poison, and there's no evidence for a poisonous concentrations, and the Bay is alive, thank you, and supports more life than ever; maybe even too much, thanks to your excreta.  If you want to help "Save the Bay", leave.
