Bay Foundation Pushing Offshore Wind for Maryland

The Bay has a perky production pushing for the planting of a plantation of wind power generators off the coast of Maryland.  Alas, I cannot figure out how to embed it.

As with most propaganda it's a mixture of fact and fiction.  While Maryland's low lying marshes are being lost to sea level rise, the rise itself has not been altered, at least of yet, by climate change caused by CO2 from power plants, in fact, recently sea levels have mysteriously declined.  Much of the loss of marsh is also the result of human land use changes independent of CO2 as well (burning marsh starves it of the material that help build marshes and keep it above water.  There are more examples.  Asthma is largely a disease caused by indoor pollution and allergies, recent increases in asthma are largely a function of children getting less exposure to "nature".  Any suggestion that it is caused by outdoor pollution from power plants is purely statistical speculation.  I hate sales jobs built on lies. I don't normally answer phone calls from 800 numbers either.

Nevertheless, I am a at least agnostic to the placement of wind power installations in Maryland.  If a company is willing to risk it's money to build such a system, I urge the government to get out the way and let them.  Maybe even give them a tax break, and make sure it's sited in a good place (somewhere I can fish around the structures would be a suggestion).  But don't start whining when it turns out to be a giant bird blender.
