Saturday Beach Walk, Jan. 7, 2012

It's just hard to imagine weather this nice in January.  The sun is shining. It's almost 60 degrees out, the wind is down to almost nothing, the tide was nice and low.

Something weird I hadn't seen before.  A bunch of starlings swirling around the jetty and landing on it.  Are they picking up things to eat?  Are they evolving toward a more shorebird life style?
It's not all sweetness and light at the beach, though.  A deer died somehow and ended up in the water.  It's getting pretty well used up by now, but there's probably still a little nutrition for the scavengers.
A couple of people out looking for teeth as well.  I stopped and talks a minute.  They were relative amateurs, and only a had a few teeth...
Check out those boots!
Even though Sky talked me into going home early (Georgia wasn't along, and Skye seems to get anxious without her these days), I found 45 teeth, mostly small.  This was the best, a pretty decent Snaggletooth.

As I said, Skye wanted to go back early, but she was full of piss and vinegar, running up and down the beach, and demanding a pet from everyone.
