Pirate Ship Runs Aground in Florida

'Pirate' ship runs aground in 'fog"
Pirates of yore were known for slipping through the fog to prey on unsuspecting ships, but the tables were turned on one popular pirate ship in Clearwater late Saturday.

The ship 'Pirates Ransom,' loaded with New Year's revelers instead of booty, ran aground in Clearwater Harbor. A second ship, identified by city officials as the 'Island Time,' followed suit while trying to offload passengers from the pirate ship.

All passengers, approximately 100, were taken to shore. One 77-year-old woman was checked out at the scene but refused treatment, according to the city.

Fog is believed to be a factor in the ships running aground. The red Pirates Ransom is also known as 'Captain Memo's pirate cruise,' and is a familiar sight to many tourists and residents.
A 'fog' of rum?
