Twilight Beach Walk 6/10/11

Georgia got home early today from a week long field trip in Maine.  She needed a little decompression, so after dinner, we decided to take Skye and go down to the beach.  Here, in the area behind to dune crest the dandelion like seed heads of Goats-beard (Tragopogon) and Sumac grow in the sand.
A family out enjoying the water.  The water was almost bath water warm to the touch.  I walked barefoot tonight, something I rarely do, since the sea nettles have not yet mad an appearance.

It was quite calm most of the time we were there, as you can see here, but just as we were getting ready to leave the beach, a sudden squall came up and the wind spiked to 20-25 (at least according to web site that reports the winds a Cove Point), and almost blew my hat into the Bay
You can sort of see the suddenly roughed up water in this sunset picture.
