Will North Dakota Become the New Alaska?

Continuing the question theme.  Go north, young man!

One of my father's proposed solutions to government bloat that I've always favored is to move the nation's capital to Fargo, North Dakota.  It's so  unpleasant there, particularly in winter, that climate avoidance alone would shrink the government at least 50%.  Plus, it would put the Capital much closer to the geographic center of the country (especially after we "incorporate" Canada...).  And think of the jobs created by moving all that marble.

But, now that Nodak seems to be looking towards becoming a rich state, maybe that's not such a good idea after all.
Other states may be grappling with massive budget deficits, but North Dakota is sitting pretty, thanks to the Bakken-Three Forks shale oil deposit.
Can you imagine, actually producing a useful product and selling it to other people is a way to become wealthy?
Like California during the Gold Rush of 1849 and Alaska during the go-go 1970s, North Dakota is suddenly the place to be.
Of course, later California became the land of lotus eaters (Hey, I was there!), and it's economy has steadily declined as a result.
